Mom life is no walk in the park—unless that park is full of sticky fingers, endless energy, and snack-time meltdowns. To help make things a bit easier, here are a few items that have truly made a difference for me and my two boys. Note: Some of these links are affiliate links, so I might earn a small commission if you decide to make a purchase. Think of it as a tip for saving your sanity!
This has been a lifesaver for our beach trips. It provides shade, a spot to nap, and a place to store our stuff. I actually don’t like the tents. I feel like the keep in the hot sun. These are “pricey” but totally worth the portability and ease to set up. I am frugal in many areas in my life but I NEED to be in the shade.
Ok so there is a big difference between a picnic blanket and a beach sand blanket. Hear me out. Picnic blankets (like this one) are great for park outings or backyard picnics. It's easy to clean and folds up nicely for storage. Because, let’s face it, kids treat any blanket like a Jackson Pollock canvas. BUT sand ones are easy to pack and don’t need to be thick. They just need to be a spot where you can get away from the sand. I like this sandproof beach mat because it’s so small. I try really hard to take the least amount of things to the beach.
No more messy clean-ups! These are quick to fill and provide endless fun without the waste. Also, fewer pieces for you to pick up when the kids "accidentally" miss each other.
(Side note, I do recall something about these little magnets in these being dangerous but I feel like they have since fix this problem)
Keeping everyone hydrated is a must. These bottles keep drinks cold for 59 hours, maybe not in direct heat but will for a whole day! I’ve tried a million different water bottles… these by far have been the best for me. They are a bit pricey but totally worth it. I LOVE my water bottle. I actually drink more water because I love it that much.
5. Sunscreen make up brush or sponge
Applying sunscreen to squirmy kids can be a challenge, but using a dedicated make up brush like this fish tail or this make up sponge makes it much easier and less messy. Also make sure it has a CASE! Bonus: no more sunscreen in the eyes, resulting in less screaming.
6. Portable Fan
A small, rechargeable fan can make a huge difference during hot outings. Because nothing says "summer fun" like a breeze that doesn't come from a child waving their hand in front of your face.
Accidents happen, so having a compact first aid kit on hand is always a good idea. Also handy for mom, who inevitably ends up with a mystery bruise every day.
I freaking love this thing. I bring a cooler that fits it but it’s GREAT. Healthy, easy-to-carry snacks are a must. Having good containers keeps them fresh and prevents spills. Because hangry kids are like tiny tornadoes of destruction.
I hope these items help make your summer a little more enjoyable and stress-free! And remember, if all else fails, there's always ice cream.
